How to run MCM2 on Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10

A lot of users don’t know how to run Motocross Madness 2 on Windows 7/8/8.1. It’s really simple, just follow these few steps:

  1. Install the game
  2. Download and paste d3drm.dll into MCM2 directory

    Default x86 system folder
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2\

    Default x64 system folder
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2\

  3. Set the compatibility mode to XP SP 3 and check ‘Run as Administrator » for MCM2.exe like this:

  4. Now you have to enable hardware rendering in Windows Registry. For an x64 Windows version you should go to this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2\DriverInfo\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}\DisabledHardware

  5. Edit the DisabledHardware registry key and set it to 0 then save and exit registry.
    If you have 2Gbs RAM or less, go directly to step 10
  6. Download free version of EasyBCD from NeoSmart Technologies and install it on your computer.
  7. Create a new entry to the boot menu with EasyBCD and limit the amount of available RAM to 2048Mb like in the folowing screenshots:EasyBCD Overview

  8. Save EasyBCD Settings and Exit.
  9. Reboot your computer in « 2Gb RAM Limited mode ».
  10. Play MCM2!  (select Hardware Rendering when asked)
